Postpartum Recovery Tips {Placenta Encapsulation}

Your body changes so much while you are pregnant. Hormones course through your body as it works to grow and nourish your baby. Physically, you expand to hold the life inside you. Emotionally, you begin to connect with the person you are expecting.

The changes continue as you recover from pregnancy and childbirth, and you may find yourself feeling off balance. That is why so many women are tapping into the benefits of placenta encapsulation.

By encapsulating your placenta, you are opening yourself up to a variety of possible benefits. Anecdotal evidence indicates the following:

  • Decrease of hormonal highs and lows

  • Increased energy

  • Increased milk production

  • Decrease in postpartum bleeding (lochia)

When booking placenta encapsulation services, you can look forward to receiving a beautiful transport kit and detailed instructions for you and your care team. We make it easy to transport your placenta to the safety of your home, where your Postpartum Placenta Specialist (PPS) will carry out the process.

The Postpartum Placenta Specialists at Wilmington Coastal Doulas are trained in the latest methods of placenta preparation, and committed to the safety of you and your family.

Your PPS will arrive at your home at your convenience, bringing along her sanitized equipment and safety gear. She will ensure that your kitchen is left just the way she found it after processing is complete.

During the course of several hours over two days, your PPS will use the Traditional Method of placenta encapsulation, which is based in Traditional Chinese Medicine. She will always use universal precautions, and is Blood Borne Pathogen Certified.

Regardless of how involved you’d like to be in the process, your Postpartum Placenta Specialist is available to provide support and answers to your questions that may arise.

As processing comes to an end, you will receive a bottle of placenta capsules as well as guidelines for consumption. If you have questions or concerns beyond that, please feel free to contact your PPS. It is our wish that you will enjoy a smoother postpartum period with the help of your encapsulated placenta.

Securing this for yourself is just a phone call away. Reach out, we'd love to hear from you!
