{Quick & Easy} Peanut Butter Cookies
You know those evenings when you would really appreciate a nice warm treat, but don't have any in the house because, well...we all know how long treats in the house typically last. Am I right?
This recipe {if you happen to be a peanut butter lover} can be made in 15 minutes with most of the ingredients you always have around the house!
That's 15 minutes total.
Quick and easy recipes are especially good to have during your fourth trimester when learning your new routine with your newborn baby. Being able to throw these together in minutes and have them ready in no time is perfection.
Baking cookies is also something we recommend to our labor doula clients during early labor.
The inevitable excitement and anticipation of labor is commonly amplified when early labor begins. Because this phase of labor can last anywhere from hours to days, it's good to have some simple distractions in between resting. Baking cookies is a fun way to knock some time off the clock!
Some other early labor activities could include shopping, a trip to the movies, a special dinner at home, a massage, pedicure..I could go on!
There are quite a few reasons these cookies are my go to.
I mean look at these sweet treats just waiting to be made and enjoyed by you.
This flourless peanut butter cookie recipe is not only quick, it's so simple to remember.
But, if I don't get to the ingredients and how-to it's going to take you longer to read this blog than it is to mix and bake the cookies!
What you will need:
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1tsp vanilla
1 pinch of sea salt
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Mix your ingredients {hold the salt for now}
Spoon 1 Tablespoon of your dough onto a baking sheet 1 inch apart.
Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on your pre-baked cookies.
Smush (I can use that word yeah?) the tines of your fork into the cookie dough to make a cross-hatch pattern and BAKE! Bake for 10 minutes give or take and you are ready to enjoy them.
When your baby arrives your time is more limited than before. After you have rested and recovered for a few weeks, getting together for friend or family functions can be needed to help you get to feeling back to normal, with your sweet new addition...or additions!
Want to bring something with you to the family event while making sure you have all of your necessary baby items for the diaper bag? Something quick and delicious will be your best friend.
Of course your 15 minutes can also be used to take a relaxing, uninterrupted shower while your baby is cared for and your cookies are being prepared by your postpartum doula.
A little indulgence doesn't hurt!
